HP laser parts: More on Cartridges and Printers
As many buyers know, HP laser parts and other
printer accessories have come a long way since they first became
available almost twenty years ago. Hewlett Packard's DeskJet printer
was among the first available to the public and was priced at
$1,000 in 1988. Today, you can get a basic HP Inkjet for $40.00
that prints both black and white and color, and
prints up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi. Even the top-of-line wide
format Inkjet printers run around $300.
If you are like most inkjet printer owners, you
rarely look inside your printer. Normally, most people only open
their printers when they have a paper jam or they think their
HP ink cartridge is running low. But the ink cartridge is just
one element of a pretty complex mechanism. At the heart of your
HP Inkjet Printer is the print head, which houses the nozzles
that are responsible for spraying the ink onto the paper. The
print head and ink cartridges (print head assembly) are pushed
back and forth across the page by the stepper motor and travels
across a stabilizer bar.

Most inkjet printer manufacturers (including
HP and Canon) use thermal bubble or what is also known as bubble
jet technology in order to transfer ink to the page. In these
printers, tiny resistors heat the printer ink to form bubbles.
As these bubbles pop, ink is fired back onto the page. It is important
that you understand this technology so as not allow your HP laser
parts to cause problems with your equipment.
You see, if there is no ink in the chamber when
the resistor turns up the heat, the nozzle assembly will quickly
warp and break apart. If this occurs because the ink cartridge
has not been refilled or replaced promptly, your equipment can
become damaged. The damages can range from poor print quality
(streaks or lines across the page, light or dark patches on the
page) to some very serious and costly damage to your printer itself.
It is very important that you check your HP laser parts regularly
in order to avoid this from occurring.
